VILLA SONJA

VILLA SONJA

“When we stepped into the house, we had the feeling we believe most people have when they arrive for the first time: there is something special about this place.”

In the heart of Allinge, a short walk from the cliffs, lies a former printing house from 1886. Here, Birgit Lyngbye Pedersen and Jimmy Olesen have created Villa Sonja.

The house comprises three holiday apartments with space for presence and everyday living throughout the year. The place provides a setting for families, friends and smaller teams. It is rooted in the joy of sharing Bornholm’s nature, art, gastronomy and sense of community, as well as the experiences the island offers.

A summer house atmosphere and considered material choices define Villa Sonja. This extends to the kitchens, where proper tools and equipment have been thoughtfully chosen.

A passion for interiors is evident in the apartments, with every detail carefully selected to create spaces that feel both distinctive and homely. It is a curated mix of new pieces, vintage finds, local paintings and craft from Bornholm – everyday luxury in a relaxed
setting.

THE COURTYARD

THE COURTYARD

The enclosed courtyard is the heart of the house and is shared by guests from the apartments.

Beneath the large fig tree, you can grill, share a meal and unwind after a day of activities.

A PART OF SONJA HOUSE

A PART OF SONJA HOUSE

Villa Sonja is part of Sonja House, which grew out of Birgit and Jimmy’s love of travelling and the inspiration they have drawn from the people, places and atmospheres they have encountered
around the world. Their collaboration explores a universe shaped by aesthetics and a passion for creating spaces that feel alive through craft, nature and community.

Sonja House encompasses both Villa Sonja and
Galleri Sonja. The name is inspired by the Danish artist Sonja Ferlov Mancoba, with her artistic, material-conscious and international approach, combined with the 1960s television series Sonja fra Saxogade and its warm, human and everyday character.
